The Quality Technician at CPI is responsible for the auditing, inspection and testing functions through-out the value stream.  In addition, the Q.T. is charged with following up on any process and/or product non-conformances to assure they are brought to an effective solution while assisting with troubleshooting and supporting operations as required. 

 

Hourly rate - $24.00

Responsibilities

Quality Technician:

  • Acts as document control coordinator and as such, implements methods for process control and improvements and maintains quality requirements, standards, policies and procedures for manufacturing of existing and new products with minimal waste
  • Manages the internal audit schedule and assure timely completion of audits, accurate and complete records and follow-up on any identified issues.  This includes performing internal audits.
  • Manages the control of monitoring and measurement equipment including scheduling and completion of verifications and coordination of outside vendors. 
  • Inspects work and performs physical testing of work in process and finished product for a variety of qualities such as color, dimension and performance using testing equipment and brings issues and variations to the attention of Quality Manager, Finishing Manager and/or Plant Manager
  • Interprets customer requirements and confers with management or technical staff to ascertain quality and reliability standards
  • Performs demonstrated competency verification on training activities.
  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures, and evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing quality standards.
  • Complete KPIs reporting and analysis.  Uses the data to determine areas of opportunity.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability and with minimal waste.
  • Assist with the development of documentation for the purpose of monitoring the company’s cost of quality.
  • Composes and updates forms, training documents, work instructions, test methods, and SOPs. 
  • Ensures compliance to association, customer, and ISO standards and updates documentation as needed.
  • Ensures compliance to ISO standards which includes implementing and maintaining the quality management programs in compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
  • Organize and perform Management Review.

Qualifications

General:

  • The candidate must be able to use a caliper and other hand tools.  Prior experience is not required
  • The candidate must be able to interface with a PC by in putting and out putting data and using basic Microsoft Office Suite products.  Keyboard input skills are necessary
  • Elementary English proficiency communication skills necessary

Physical Demand:

  • Work is primarily conducted standing or walking in a manufacturing environment and sitting in an office environment and often requires bending and stooping to observe product and/or manufacturing equipment
  • Manufacturing environment is noisy and may require ear protection
  • Work involves good eyesight, hand/eye coordination and excellent color vision to be able to ensure quality product
  • Work involves dealing with fine detail and constant human interaction
